Our Grands Crus are a reflection of a terroir; unique wines firmly rooted to a place. The history of a grape variety with its soil and microclimate.
The Steingrubler extends over a portion of the municipality of Wettolsheim. With its southern exposure, and sandy-clay and marl-limestone soils, the Steingrubler has a lovely aromatic bouquet and ages well. It is a terroir of choice for Riesling.
The Pfersigberg extends over the municipalities of Eguisheim and Wettolsheim. With eastern/southeastern exposure, it enjoys a warm, dry microclimate and its soil is predominantly marl-limestone and silty-clay.
The Grand Cru Pfersigberg wines have great subtlety; they are powerful and smooth, characterized by their body, fruitiness, bouquet, and longevity.
We produce our Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Pfersigberg here.
